Imagine being in a very large network and needing to communicate with your friends or work colleagues in order to complete a certain project. The best way to do this is to install a specialized application which allows you to communicate using the LAN connection. An application which allows just this is ESDi. This Windows application allows users connected to a local area network to communicate with each other using a headset or a regular microphone.

After the application is installed, the user will be presented with an intuitive interface, which features several configuration options. The first thing to do is to set a username for the application. By default, ESDi uses your regular Windows username. After configuring this, one should select a group. When running the program for the first time, only the BROADCAST group is available, but the user can easily add new ones.

Setting up groups for the program's users will allow you to quickly find a certain person. After all these settings have been configured, one just needs to select the audio output device and source. Virtually, any sound card and any kind of microphone are supported by ESDi. At this point, all that's left to do is to select the port that will be used for communication. Optionally, the sound quality can be configured.

Pros

It allows you to communicate with anyone over the local area network using a regular microphone or headset. Besides that, each program user can be added to a certain group. Furthermore, the communication port can be selected.

Cons

Some users may have trouble configuring the network settings. ESDi is an efficient solution for communicating with anyone using voice, over the local area network.
